When I started my remote jobs journey, I started with freelance marketplaces (Upwork & Fiverr) specifically. Ooh, okay, I almost forgot. I tried Freelancers a couple of times, but I couldn’t get past the low gigs and the geography of the clients there. Most of the clients were from Asia (not my ideal location), and the interface didn’t sit well with me. So, I mainly used Upwork and Fiverr. I have gotten clients from these platforms. These platforms are great because you get to see a good number of jobs (especially on Upwork), and have anyone from any part of the world reach out to you via Fiverr. Until I discovered the downsides of these platforms. The downsides – the clients have the upper hand. Maybe it is just me, but these platforms protect the clients more than the talents. And most times, freelancers find themselves in a position where they almost beg for these low-paying gigs. Let’s not even get started with the competition they are up against. I am not trying to run down these platforms, but breaking out on these platforms as a beginner in 20225? Not so easy. It is more like a race to the bottom with everyone trying to outprice the next person. Here’s what smart freelancers and remote workers are doing in 2025: a. They package what they do to solve a specific problem (one offer) b. They go straight to find the clients who need their specific solution c. They reach out to the client and tell them, “This is what you need.” (They show, not tell) I have done this same thing, and I have gotten results. I actually plan to do this again this week (I will give you the feedback). Aside from me, many smart remote workers follow this same strategy, and they got results too. In fact, I have gotten most of my high-paying clients through this method. I call it the BEYOND & ABOVE remote jobs search strategy. If you’ve tried Upwork and Fiverr, and it appears nothing is happening, try this method. It has a higher success rate (especially if you are REALLY good at what you do) That’s the only requirement. BE GOOD AT ONE THING THAT MEANS SOMETHING TO ANOTHER PERSON. I have done this many times, so I know that it WORKS. Here’s the interesting thing. I am currently creating a detailed course to walk you through this strategy step-by-step (with templates, lists, etc.) If you are interested, you can use the link below to join the waitlist.
Joining the waitlist means that you will have access to the course almost for free (when I launch the course) + other perks. People who do not join the waitlist won’t have that access. The waitlist is open for a limited period. You will be glad you joined the waitlist (I assure you!). I will be sharing things you may not find anywhere. Alright, have you had success using freelance platforms? I would love to hear your thoughts. PS: I am happy about how consistent I have been with our Sunday chat. I hope you enjoy it too. I would love to get a response from you. Questions, observations, or if you just want to gist. I am open to that too 🙂 Rita |
