We seek a talented Mid-level Fronted Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of helping African businesses thrive.
Position Overview:
As a Mid-level Front-end engineer at Klak, your primary focus will be the development of modern front-end web applications and integration with back-end services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to
identify opportunities for automating and streamlining financial operations for African businesses.

Responsibilities

    • Translation of the UI/UX designs to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application
    • Have a strong understanding of Modern Javascript (React, Next.js)
    • Write clean, modular, organized, and well-thought-out code
    • Work with data handling via AJAX and JSON
    • Use GIT for version controlling and managing codebases with multiple developers
    • Prototype usable experiences using Bootstrap
    • Understand the nuances of, and have experience building functional cross-browser JavaScript and responsive layouts
    • Effectively debug, understand, and resolve issues within your code
    • Stage work done on leading cloud providers (GCP) for review and feedback

Requirements

    • Have worked in a cross-discipline agile environment with designers and other developers to build Saas products
    • Have collaborated with a team to develop large front-end web applications that perform well on all devices using modern languages, libraries, and frameworks
    • Have a minimum of 3 years of continuous experience as a Front-end developer
    • Can use JavaScript as a programming language and work with REST APIs
    • Can work with modern web stacks (transpilers, linters, build and Cl tools, etc.)
    • Can build maintainable, scalable, and well-structured semantic HTML/CSS and JavaScript (Next JS)
    • Can write and maintain unit and integration tests
    • Understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
    • Experience working on a 100% remote team is nice to have
