Duolingo is looking for a skilled Italian pedagogy specialist who has experience teaching Italian to speakers of other languages and crafting instructional materials.
This is a temporary freelance position (no benefits included). All work will be conducted remotely and hours are flexible.
You Will…
- Use pedagogical expertise to review course content for an online Italian course for speakers of other languages.
- Work with a team of content developers to ensure a high-quality learning experience for Duolingo learners.
- Provide direction to writers on tailoring content to communicative, lexical, and grammatical goals.
- Provide feedback on natural language use and on errors related to grammar, spelling, and syntax.
- Help streamline the content-development process.
You Have…
- High proficiency in Italian
- MA or 4+ years of experience in Italian, linguistics, or a related field.
- Experience teaching Italian as a second/foreign language.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Moderate digital literacy (Google docs, spreadsheets).
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work at least 20 hours per week.
Exceptional Candidates Will Have…
- High proficiency in English.
- Experience copy editing or proofreading materials for teaching Italian as a second/foreign language.
- Experience with project management.
