For many remote jobs, you’ll be required to have a live video interview. You need to have a bright and clean office space where you can easily hold your meetings. This space doesn’t need to be an office, it can be in your house.
For the space to be meeting-ready, you need the following:
- an Office chair
- A table
- a ring light
- a clear background wall (a plain white wall is about the safest)
- A phone stand (if you’d like to use your phone ) or a functioning webcam
- A microphone for a phone or PC (depends on what you use mostly)
- An alternative power source – Power generating set, Solar Power, Inverter, etc.
- A noiseless environment. I have seen someone lose a job because of noise from neighbors during an interview.
